    The Marine Technologist is a vital asset to the McRae’s engineering team who designs, reviews, and implements marine systems on all types of marine vessels along with other related documentation, as well as provides on-site technical support to customers to ensure proper implementation of engineered system installations.

    • Education Required: Electrical Technologist Degree

    • In addition: Red Seal electrical ticket considered an asset.

    • Years of Experience Required: 3-5+ years as a Technologist/Technician.

    • 1-2+ years of field experience

    • Proficient with marine electrical systems and documentation

    • Experience in technical writing and proficient with MS Office suite

    • Must have attention to detail and strong organizational skills

    • Must be able to meet project deadlines with minimal supervision

    • Knowledge and experience designing, building, installing electrical systems on marine vessels

    • Proficient at AutoCAD required

    • Experience working in a shipyard setting is considered an asset

    • Experience in a Quality Assurance Role is considered an asset

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Marine electrical system design, including drawings, technical documents, schematics, system layout, bill of materials.

    • Providing on-site technical support to customers during the implementation of electrical system installation/commissioning.

    • Working with the Engineering department to identify design issues and potential solutions to

    engineering changes

    • Providing technical input to engineering specifications and drawings

    • Reviewing and updating system and equipment technical documentation as required

    • Conduct technical investigations and feasibility studies
