Did you know that Vietnam was British Columbia’s (B.C.) 10th largest export destination in 2019 with goods exports totaling $359 million? Vietnam’s economy is one of the most open to trade in the world and has been industrialising and rapidly expanding over the past 30 years. B.C. - Vietnam trade was given a big boost in 2019 when Vietnam ratified the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), a trading block representing 495 million people with a combined gross domestic product of CAD $13.5 trillion — a full 13.5% of global GDP. The CPTPP provides you with preferred access to the Vietnamese market, offering excellent partnership and export opportunities for goods, services, and investment across many sectors, and facilitates the integration of your goods and services into regional and global value chains.
